LINESCALE PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy is effective as of April 1, 2020.

You can find our previous Privacy Policy here.

INTRODUCTION

Linescale is dedicated to the anonymity of our survey and interview responders. The values of our privacy-by-design model include the collection of only de-identified information and data minimalization.

HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION

We conduct surveys and interviews on behalf of our clients, who vary from retailers to service providers. Our clients work with Commercial Respondent Panel Vendors (“Vendors”). We provide each Vendor with a URL specific to a client’s survey or interview, and vendors provide us with a Respondent Identification Code (“RID”) for each intended survey or interview participant. At no point in time does Linescale encounter identifying information that can identify you based on the RID. Linescale does not retain RIDs after surveys and interviews are conducted.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The information we collect from you varies by survey or interview. By design, we will not ask for your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, or any other information that, alone, directly identifies you. Examples of information we may collect from you include your age range, profession, and zip code.

WHY WE NEED YOUR INFORMATION AND HOW WE USE IT

Any information we collect from our survey responders is for the purposes of our legitimate interests, including helping our clients provide you with better services and products, and managing our services. We may also disclose information we collect if required by a legal request such as a subpoena.

INFORMATION WE SHARE

We do not share individual survey or interview responses with any third party, except for all addresses collected for product testing purposes. We only share aggregated survey and interview responses with our clients.

COOKIES

We do not interact with nor collect your IP address, cookies, web beacons, or other page tags when you visit our website or participate in our surveys or interviews. However, our web server, Nginx Software, Inc., may collect such information.

SECURITY

We value the security of your information and have implemented measures and processes to ensure that information we collect remains de-identified.

SAFETY OF MINORS

Our services are not intended for and may not be used by minors. “Minors” are individuals under the age of 13 (or under a higher age if permitted by the laws of their residence). Linescale does not knowingly collect personal data from Minors or allow them to register. If it comes to our attention that we have collected personal data from a Minor, we may delete this information without notice. If you have reason to believe that this has occurred, please contact customer support.

DATA RETENTION

We retain survey and interview results after it is reported, in aggregate form, to the respective client. Any information retained on our servers or systems is and remains in a format that cannot directly identify you.

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

We may make changes to this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will identify the changes we have made on this page. If you have any questions on this privacy policy, please contact Daniel Axtell, at daxtell@linescale.com.
